Tator Day...Part One

It's taken way too long, I know, but here is an update.

Tator Days...Part One

As some of you have already heard, Tator Day was Monday, April 3rd. It's a holiday around here and the schools are closed. Some local business open after 2:00, some close down for the entire day

The Tator Day celebration starts before Monday though. Some street vendors were open for business the Tuesday before Tator Day. On Saturday, Main Street and Poplar Street (each run One Way) are both crowded on either side with people...and vendors. It's really more of a glorified flea market, but it sure brings everyone out. The streets are crowded!

You can get funnel cakes, fresh cotton candy, all sorts of 'tators fried (including sweet), BBQ pork, HAND DIPPED CORN DOGS, and a plithera of other carnival type treats.

There were also a few games and some pony rides. All four of the boys did some shooting with pellet guns at the 4-H table. Annie picked ducks and rode a pony mix.

Did I mention that they had baby chicks for sale? These are ours. The kids named them Gordy and Audre'.
